my dad doesnt want to spend more than 1500 at most if possible. its going in a room with no windows that is pitch black 100%

its going to be projected on a 16:9 ~124" screen.

obviously we would like 1080p, etc, etc..

any recommendations? was looking at a Sanyo one at bestbuy for $1449

id assume they can be had online for cheaper though?

well, after reading around about the bulb in my Optoma HD65 being common place of blowing at a young age, I wouldn't suggest this projector, everything else about it is great, besides the $300 bulb that I know have to replace

I really like epson.

Quite a bit. In fact I have only found 2 projectors that met the cost/performance demands, and they were both epson.

Try looking for a nice 1080UB. Used maybe not, but it's discontinued, might find a deal. The in focus looks nice, I've never used one however.
