March 25, 200916 yr Author I hope to post up good numbers this summer!Until then I may have to pay a local shop to put this puppy on Termlab.
March 27, 200916 yr Author can't wait to see what you think of those subs..............Maybe I should get Adam to write my review for them...LOLSo far I'm very impressed just by them visuallyand on design software! They are some stout, beefy, and stealthy looking subs for sure.No glitz and glammor where it's not needed. All the cosmetic details that most companies put into theback end of the subwoofers look cool when in the store but,i'll never see that once I drop it into an enclosure...That stuff just drives up a price that's passed on to me, the consumer..SSA keeps a simple design that is physics wise, strong as they come.No lame decal or logo rubber trim on the magnet...(more added cost!)Just one plain sweet lookin' subwoofer! With guts like a rhino on steroids!!! March 31, 200916 yr Author If it wouldn't rain everytime I get to work on this it'd be done by now!Well, I did manage about an hour and a half of time after I got off work today....So, I put the port in primer an drilled out my wire locations on the amp rack, plotted and drilled all the pilot holes and dropped in some threaded inserts.More rain forcasted for me this week off and on.I hope to get some work done in between the showers!
March 31, 200916 yr Author looks awesome! loving that port and box work.Thank you!Wait till you see it wrapped and finished!I hope to test fit everything tomorrow.

March 31, 200916 yr Author If I had a garage.....I'm at war with the weather on this one! LOLMDF loves rain! Soaks it up like a sponge...then swells to twice the size...NTM I won't let anyone else help me do "actual" work on my install...I like to hog all the fun myself! :-)Hope to have a few more pics of progress by this weekend.
April 3, 200916 yr Maybe I should get Adam to write my review for them...LOLActually you should have this guy write your review for the subs. Don't remember how I found this but I felt thoroughly educated after reading the following about a JVC Arsenal. This sub has an oddly soft sound to it, in a great way. I'd call my Brahma 15 MKI's sound...being hit with thick butter on a concrete wall. great sound and tone that is thick, accurate, and filling. My two Earthquake 12"s i would call...Having large stones thrown at you in a biblical sense. They were loud, but very harsh and un-distinguishible, very similiar to a kicker sound. I would call this JVC a pillow fight with Hulk hogan. It hits hard but doesn't have the same impact and pressure sense of the brahma or other SPL featured subs ive heard.I'm not sure you could find a better review amongst subwoofers. If I had to take a shot I would say I'm hoping the SSA's produce more of a being shot by a 45 in the chest with a Kevlar jacket kind of result. Talk about an eye opener. I'm not the easiest consumer to pleaseI'll be coming to see you when you are all done but my girl wants to hit the St Louis Arch on the way. I don't care what everybody else says, take your time I've got a lot of stuff to do before I come up there.
April 4, 200916 yr Author Put the final coat of primer on the port today, worked on the amp rack, and finally fined the sound deadening in the rear!Tomorrow's my 33rd B-day and it's supposed to be sunny and 70!!I have the whole day to myself so I can get some good work done!!
April 4, 200916 yr Who's lookin good now pal? The sound deadener is looking damn good in the bed. I've decided to give myself a break on cutting the chit out of my knuckles and you are gonna get a real taste of what it should be like doing some deadening and help me get the spoiler and rear hatch from looking like the Fosbury Flop when Lil Jon shows up. That bed would have taken me 10 mins with a good pair of scissors. For what it's worth(I type it all out cuz I'm not smart enough to know all the cool acronyms)I remember back in the day when you were on installer steroids and you bought the blow through kit for the rear window of the Ranger and you were like I just bought this 10 minutes ago and I already hacked out my panel and it's installed. It was well documented on PTS but you erased it all. None of that is even around any more. The grass and the nasty weather will always be with you. I gotta give you some chit. The very beginning of all of this was started out by Jay trying to explain how his bed topper was a cap.I would pay money to read those long forgotten posts on PTS. I just remember asking you what the fudge you were talking about and you were just like my bed cap, the cap for my bed the rear cap. Whatever dude, it's a topper. But all that resulted in the very first pics of the blue truck then the cat fish then the bluegill tank Hah look who's laughing now!! No seriously, look who's laughing now- This dude is the man. He finished the sound deadening in the rear and it looks fudgeing awesomebow chica bow wow(repeat it fast and it sounds like porn music
April 4, 200916 yr Author LMAO!!!!You always have some colorful words!I feel really dumb sometimes b/c I have to look some word up! LOLNice picture there Ray Bans!!!You know I was going to tease you on that......LOL
April 4, 200916 yr Author Thanks! How do y'all like the split in the windshield????I have to get that fixed before I unleash these Icon's!!
April 4, 200916 yr I say keep the windshield in until you can destroy it with the icons!! LMAO!!...could be fun
April 4, 200916 yr Author I say keep the windshield in until you can destroy it with the icons!! LMAO!!...could be funOoooo! That would be fun!!!!I'd have to do it on the same day the new one would be getting put in...I bet it would blow out!
April 4, 200916 yr You could always do what Mead did to his rear window. I've got a RF P3 basket that would probably do the trick.Talk about feeling dumb- That's a good way to express how I feel when I'm trying to cut panels out of a full 3/4" sheet of MDF for an enclosure. I've tried it before. This comes from a man who at one point ran all kind of saws and power tools everyday to bring home the bread.Carpenters and Cabinet builders are not the same thing. The box is lookin great man!In other news I don't know how to make you my friend so I guess we really aren't buds after all
April 4, 200916 yr You could always do what Mead did to his rear window.Who else do you know that can totally shatter a window with a single 18" running IB and no power?

It's quite funny.EDIT: Explaining what happened took all the fun out of it
April 5, 200916 yr Author That was pretty funny!I clicked and watched hoping for the obviouse....then BOOM, Steve amazed me again!Never guessed he'd do that!!!! LOLOn another note I did get some more work donetoday on the enclosure. But, first I had to dry fit this sucker, plot and measuresome things, yank it back out, and all by myself..... Now it's on to starting the rear 6x9 boxes and battery shelf.I still have a lot more detail to add to the sides....The next time this puppy fits into the rear the solidshell has to come off and be put back on.It's an exact fit....dang near needs Crisco to fit in there!
April 5, 200916 yr I probally looked over it but what's goning on with the ovals on the side of the enclosure?
April 5, 200916 yr Author I probally looked over it but what's goning on with the ovals on the side of the enclosure?Infinity 2-way 6x9's, countersunk to match subs.and the shelfs down the side serve three purposes...To hide cabling and give a clean look, help to brace side panels, provide mounting for secondary battery.
