I posted something simular to this and it didn't get enough results, so I thought I'de re-frase the topic being I didn't get enough feedback lol. So here we go again lol. A friend of mine is doing a budget system and wants some good coaxle's. He just wants a pair of 3 way 6x9s for the rear and 5 1/4s for his front doors. He has the same car as me but an 03 Corolla and just wants some speakers to power off his deck that'll be able to take a beating and doesn't care about his speakers having much bass being his box does. He just wants something durable. So far the brands we're looking at are JL Audio, Kicker, MTX, Alpine, JBL. The speakers don't have to be cheap. He just wants to power them off his deck.

Well there isn't any point in spending a lot of money on speakers that are just going to be run off of the head unit. I'd go ahead and get a budget kicker set.

He would be much better off just getting a set of components for the front and amping them. I know that anyone not used to this concept will fight it all the way though. If he absolutely refuses to amp them, then I would highly reccomend The Rockford Fosgate Power series coaxials.

Would you say they're better than Kickers or JL Audios?

I say the Pioneer Premier REV's!

They sound great on radio or amp power. And are relatively cheap!!

And a Team mate of mine runs 2 REV 6x9"s off the H/U and they sound great. I had 4 REV's off amp power and they sounded great.

We're going to go with the Rockford Fosgate's. Thanks for your input and help.
