Picked up another Orphan 8" from Mike a couple weeks ago. These things are badass.

Box is .91cuft tuned to 30hz, and so far I think it really likes this box. Just finished it tonight so I didnt get to really crank it up (wife yelled at me for shaking the house at 11pm ) but it has a great sound to it.

it almost looks like the ho wedge from jl.. great craftsmanship

Maybe it's just me, but why does the port look like it's about 1/2" wider at the start than when it makes the 90 to go forward?

The port is wider at the start, its not just you. & I did that on purpose, kind of an experiment. I have built 3 or 4 boxes like this already (none with the port exit covered like this one though) & have been playing with port lengths and shapes to see exactly what happens.

It does resemble a JL HO box, I had the idea of putting a face over the port like I did above but wasnt sure it would work. Then I figured if JL got away with it I probably could, so gave it a shot.

beefy looking 8. it reminds me of the SS RLi 8's.
