I was going to listen to my system the other day, and i turned it on when it was just about to hit it kinda shut off and started making a weird noise. Kinda high pitched noise. I took the sub out and brought to another car an ran it free air so that wasn't it. Same with the amp. I replaced the auxiliary wires and it started to work on a low level. so i turned it up just a little bit. Like up 2. Hooked it back up.(keep in mind this is back in my car running free air to see if its going to work before i put it all back together) and then it sparked and stopped working again.

I have a 18" fi Bl, It was hooked up to my buddies sundown saz-1500d, and my Pioneer avh5000dvd headunit, Knuconcept 0 gauge wire. RF speaker wire and RF aux cable.

The speaker wire to the sub spared. The sub still moves in and out freely w/o scratching of the coil. It's grounded to a bolt that is underneath one of my seats. The amp still comes on. The sub just isnt getting a signal. I believe that there is a short somewhere but i don't know where. I don't know why it would have just now happened when i have and the same ground for about a year. and the same basic setup since December.
