Murilo is doing it - he's got a pre-order for the SounDigital 5000.1d going on right now:

Make sure you add a few bucks for shipping costs, but pound-for-pound, you won't find a better buy than this. Period.

Oh, and to the naysayers who think there is no way to get that much power from such a small footprint, hang tough - we will be at Tulsa in October for the finals!

So that amp is that underrated?

On the website it say's 5kw rms at 12.6v

  • Author

Made in Brazil. They rate their output at 12.6 volts, so you will get 5k at that voltage. I posted the 14.4v measurement for an apple-to-apple comparison to what we see here.

Good. Well i believe I just made my choice on what amp im getting :fing34:

As soon as funds come.

You should expect the people who don't believe because i disagree until proven wrong.

So, since i have stated this, i'm gonna start off with the power rating-

If the same current were being pulled during 12.6 and 14.4 measurement, then at 14.4v, the amp would only output 5,700w.

The only other thing i could see happening is the higher the voltage... the higher the efficiency... That would still be a BIG efficiency jump if this is true.

The small footprint that this company is known for is unique like critical mass is to subwoofers. Having said that, i'm sure it's patented information to ask how exactly they have done it but a more basic question is...

How can a company make such a powerful amp in a case that usually houses a 1,000w amp?

The thing that concerns me is long term proper heat dissipation... If they have successfully packed the hell out of this case... how is it safe?

They have lots of protection circuits, far more than a normal amp... that also concerns me. How sensitive is it to longterm usage... 1 Yr warranty... Do they not expect long term usage?

Someone successfully convince me because i am dumbfounded.

I hear you all the way man. I too was very skeptical at what these things could do. Ha, this almost sounds like one of those really dumb half hour tv commercials where they try to sell you on a crappy mattress.

Well, please hang in there as we hope to have some numbers up about the output soon.

Best,

Mark

It has a protection circuit for 16+ volts, yet is rated to put out 9000 watts at 18 volts?

stetsom rippoff maybe?

For all of you, use google.

Some people have results from using these amp's...

stetsom rippoff maybe?

It's actually the other way around. Stetsom made the jump into North America before SD did. Nothing more.

theres been a few who have played around with them on CA forums, i odnt know what half the chit means though so I cant say

In fact, I guess ill post some links to some..

http://forum.soundpressure.com/showthread.php?t=8127

http://audioforum.termpro.com/topic/20/14063.html

Scroll down on the second link after you get done reading the first post and check out the mini amp putting out 1600rms+

lol chill out. if its a stetsom ripoff or the other way around (i really don't care since ill probably never get either) its probably a decent amp. And really looking at the brands on this forum i doubt anyone is going to care if its a ripoff or not. nothing here is really built to look cool or be inventive or whatever. cut the fluff and get to the real chit

And what do you see on the amp that looks sooo good? Except for that it's very small

I dont see any unnecessary things on the amp's.

Just standard stuff. If you don't have any interest in the amp's then go post in another thread

real chit got some haterz seems like ................. in here...........

It looks pretty bad ass, but I just doubt the heat disperssion for anything but burps.

No worries guys. Just thought I'd throw the thread into the fray. Those who know about the amp understand. Those who don't just hang in there and we will show you some results :)

Preet, sincerely, do you think that I didn't compare with the brazilian stronger amplifiers?

But, of course, I won't put the results here, as I already said, we think that a company shouldn't compare products in public because the results obviously will never be reliable.

Reliability is what we claim.

look man im not dissing on the amp at all. I came in the thread noticed a small digital amp that was made in brazil and made the connection with stetsom. mrogowski corrected me saying this amp could be the "original" I replied that since we are on this forum it probably doesnt matter which is the original and which is not. It sounds to me like this was probably a RE/FI type deal. and if it is then im sure it will be a winner here. Nothing on this forum is "looks only" or "newest thing on the block" its all sorta plain jane stuff that preforms awesomely. So the whole "my dick is bigger" contest to which was the first amp is irrelevant on this forum

Im not interested in the amp because i already have a sub amp but if i was i would probably buy the amp that had someone post a legitimate question/concern and have the seller answer said question/concern. VS a thread full of fanboys, its much more impressive to "convert" 1 person because the product is really that good then have 30 people swear buy it

After doing some research, it's obvious from an "electrical system" point of view that this amp can't be used for daily.

It uses single 1/0 power\ground and single speaker connections.

Stated to pull 1000A of current.

You would need a minimum of 3 3/0 power AND ground connectors to support that feed safely.

I'm a daily driver so i'm out.

Now, for those in comps who burp ONLY, then you should keep close eyes on this thread.

Ok, no pee matches here guys. Thanks...

Take a step back and wait. Please...

This isn't ca.com Hahaha!

Well I am gonna keep an eye on em, and thanks for the info man!!!
