Can someone please explain to me what would cause a crossover to "blow up", I had the music on 55/62 and was pretty screaming from the tweeters, and then all of a sudden a huge "pop" from the crossover, smoking, doesnt seem like it was the first time, when I first got my other side installed I noticed this fuzzy stuff all over it, but thouhgt nothing of it, same shit was over the crossover when it blew, im ssending them in for warrenty, but I want to know if its my fault at all, or the brand, CDT.

did u install these yourself? where are the crossovers located? what kind of power are they seeing?

my buddy whos been doing installations for 8 years did it. Crossovers are located on the bottom of the door, there was no room to mount them on the inside, so they are on the outside.

They are being powered by a Kenwood KAC-X40 Kenwood Amp

I could take picture of the wiring, but its wired in 4 ohms, it isnt bridged.

the blurry pics are the cross's on the right side that had that small yellow cylinder blow up.

my CDT's melted.... thats why i say no to CDT

never mind, they agreed to send me 2 brand NEW crossovers for free, 2 quick replies on a Saturday, great service on their end.
