Posted May 27, 200916 yr i have a 94 caprice wagon and had purchased infinity693.7i 6x9's for the rear. they work fine up until i actually go to screw them in. they actually seem to be grounding themselves out on the bracket where the speaker goes. i checked all the wires and nothing is wrong as far as i can tell. i think it may just be a defective speaker. any input/help would be greatly appreciated.
May 27, 200916 yr do what it takes to prevent the grounding out. use unsulated spades. tape the terminals after the wires are connected. make sure the tinsils cant touch anything ect ect
May 28, 200916 yr more than likely the terminal bar is catching ground through the basket. Kicker had a run of DS series a few years ago with this problem
May 28, 200916 yr Author thanks for the responses. looks like i'm gonna try and get them replaced under warranty then. i may end up just getting different speakers altogether.
