I recently received my 3500D and I hooked it up as is, and it was playin well, the next day I did some minor adjustments until my speaker friend came and made correct settings. Next thing you know I'm driving for at least 5 minutes with the volume on 10 and the amp made A POP SOUND and went into protect mode. I had to send it back to get fixed. Has any1 else experienced problems with there new 3500D. Please let me know asap

need more info...

what ohm load. what are you pushing.. what kinda deck... what kinda power do you have behind the amp.. like batteries and alts. and wire and all that,

I've seen threads like this all the time and made one myself before as well.

So.. before it happens... STOP.

Try not to turn this thread into a large speculation conspiracy on what happened.

This hurts a business's reputation and puts improper views on potential buyers and makes them think otherwise due to speculatory conversation.

I know it sucks it happened but wait til Sundownz gives you the correct information on what happened.

It doesn't look like your intentions were to create a large speculation thread and that's good but for those who are considering it, don't. In the end, it's a big waste of time and some viewers may take theories as fact posted in threads like that and create "false" rumors about a company.

So... unless someone else has specifically had a problem like this, just wait.

Also, we do want to know what settings you are talking about that were tweaked and everything bigjon said so we can get a glimpse of your installation and see if we can sense anything wrong.

You should not put this type of info on a forum until things get resolved or not resolved. In a situation like this, I find that these simple steps work well.

1. Report the problem to the manufacturer

2. Let the manufacturer find out the problem. (this is the hard part waiting, I normally give 2 weeks or so for them to get back to me, if they dont I call them)

3. After the problem is found, let the manufacturer give you options, if you dont think it is fair, then let them know. Every single manufacturer may have 1% or less of thier products have a defect, no manufacturer is perfect.

4. Then if you cant get it resolved, then post. The same goes with a manufacturer resolving it, post the outcome. People tend to post band thing but not good ones. But dont jump the gun by posting FIRST. There are SOME shady manufactures. But SUNDOWN IS TOP NOTCH and Jacob is a top notch guy. Most of the time he will work with you, even if it is clearly the consumers fault.

So please do not put these types of post up prematurely.

x2. Very good post Ray.

Jacob is the man!

I've dealt with multiple manufactures and never had the service I get from Jacob

Ok sorry about that everybody. My intentions were NOT to fault Sundown at all.I've dealt with sundown for about 2 year Jacob is very Top Notch and his business is the best to me.I just needed some help. So I would like to apologize to any1 if I offended them. That was not my intentions. If you would like to email me personally my email (is [email protected]) sorry guys .

I believe you sent it to dB-R for repair ? We won't know what happened with it until he is done working on it. Occasionally with all models something will happen that testing didn't pick up - as we can't test every amp for two days :)

what id like to know is:

what did you set the dials to?

what did your friend set the dials to/or adjust?

what sub/subs are on it? ~ what coils do they have? ~ how did they get wired to the amp?

what electrical system is backing this?
