Posted June 4, 200916 yr when i make enclosures all can make is sealed enclosures. but id like to start and learn how to make a ported enclosure. i kno theres alot that goes into making these awsome boxes. i want to know how do u kno where walls should go and how big ports should be. and basic stuff like that. this is my first ported box. i got a 10" jl w0 in a sealed box that im not using and wanna make a ported box for that. sounds great but i wanna learn how to make ported enclosures. so how do u do it without guessing? thanks.
June 4, 200916 yr Head to JL's site; they have some great information on these things.It's almost as simple as a sealed enclosure, but you have to figure in your vent size, tuning frequency, length, etc. . . Do a google search and you'll find tons of good information. I would write something up here, but it would literally take all day.

June 6, 200916 yr I use the modeling program winISD. You can easily manipulate the port, enclosure size, etc., to see how the port dimensions and tuning change.
