me and my bro want to get my dad a new sub for fathers day. our budget is 50-60 bucks total. its for a 03 f150 super crew and i would like it to have a mounting depth small enough to get it under the rear seat. my dad also said he thought about making box for one that would go between the dash and center console up front. so im looking for something with a mounting depth of no more then let say 5" max. his listening preferences are mostly rock. power will be from a sony xplod amp i gave him 2 years ago that he is using to power a cheap clarion 12" that takes up too much space. the amp is probably good/clean for 300 rms at 4ohm bridged. the amp has a crossover switch, unfortunately, that is either full range or a lpf @ 80 hz...

i was looking at some of the tang band subs, specifically the 6.5 or one of the 2 6x9 subs on partsexpress, i have a 5 dollar off coupon for an order of 50 or more by the way...

anyone have some more idea's for what i should get my old man? im willing to buy used from a forum member aswell!

i found an re8, but im not the biggest fan of egay link

edit: another re8 link

Edited by lithium

i've got a pair of clarion 8s, exact same as the re8s, i'd let the pair go for $60 shipped to your door...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

sundown e8

can you still get those? i can't see them in the SSA shop

I'm not sure.

If you find something in part express pm we can talk since you live close.

I'd Recommend An Assassin, But You're On A Budget. Can't Go Wrong With A Tang-Band, I'd Actaully Rather Have That Than The RE8.

What about the W8 740P? it will work in like .25-.3 cubes and get really low

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=264-854

the W69-1042J will need about .6 cubes, and at RMS will probably be only about 0-1dB louder than the W8, but will be approaching mechanical limits. the W8 will handle some more power mechanically

good point, ill have to see if my bro is ok with paying alittle more or if he wants to go with something afew bucks cheaper

tang band :)
