Posted June 22, 200916 yr Ok so I have a kicker zx2500.1 laying around my house and since I blew my previous amp, This may besomething I can stick in my car.So my question is (after doing some digging that led to nowhere) does ANYBODY know the MAX of this amp? I have read quite a few things most of which say this# RMS Power Rating: * 4 ohms: 1250 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 2500 watts x 1 chan.# Max power output: 2500 watts x 1 chan. How can the rms and the max of the amp at 2ohms be the same?
June 22, 200916 yr Max numbers mean squat. Just go by RMS, which is 2500. They probably don't use max like other manufacturers, to them max may be maximum RMS.
June 22, 200916 yr Author so then by your reasoning... if i have two of thesehttp://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainmen...ofers/KFC-W3012Hooked to the zx2500.1 and I dont crank it to much, maybe tone the bass down a bit on my H/U and put up some smaller inline fuses and what not I'll be good?
June 22, 200916 yr Keep the gain really low and you should be fine. Tune by ear and you'll be able to tell when they are stressing. And hook them up in series.
