Posted June 22, 200916 yr I have a Kicker ZX1000.1 that says 1275 watts at 2 ohms. I had 2 Pioneer SPL subs that fried on this amp. I'm pretty sure the subs were damaged when my Kicker DX700 blew. So the new amp would cut out at higher volumes. I measured the ohm load and it would read 1.2-1.4 ohms. I am looking at switching to a Fi 15BL sub in a vented box around 4 cubic feet at 33Hz. Should I get the 1 ohm DVC and wire it in series? I noticed that on the Fi website the value of Re at 1.4 ohms...I've never seen this value and just don't want to get a sub that will cut out not having enough resistance for that amp.Any suggestions?
June 22, 200916 yr the 1.4ohm is 2 ohm nominal (I assume the reading is vc's in series.)...the dual 1 ohm woofer is the one you want, wire it in series and you're set
