for some reason my check engine light came on today while driving to work. i think there is something in my system to blame as i just installed it a couple days ago. last time it came on the negative terminal came off the battery so i put it back on and the check engine light went off. now it is back on and i looked and the negative terminal is securely connected. the engine seems to be a little sluggish now as well. what could it be?

I know this kinda sounds stupid, but check your gas cap. Alot of people think something is messed up with their car when really they never tighten up their gas cap enough causing the check engine light to turn on.

u know what?!?!?!!? that might be it!!! i remember it said something about checking the gas cap when the car was just turned on and not running and i just pressed reset. i have had that problem before also. hopefully that works!!!! thanks

take it to an autozone, murrays, o'reilys ect. Have them hook it up to the obd tool, its free. they will give you the codes that caused the engine light to come. google those code numbers and then you'll know the prob.
