I have a single rl-p 18 in 5 cubes tuned to 27hz, with 64sq in. of port. im running it with a aq2200d at 4 ohms. my question is that when i play songs with notes around 28 hz, its not really that audible, and doesnt move much air at all. Its probably just because its in a trunk. but I thought it would be alot louder on those low notes, considering its tuned to 27hz. My ssf is set around 30, i think that could be it, but i want to ask before i mess something up. thanks!

yea...this si what i do, pick a low low note like 20hz for you.

Turn your stereo up to maximum listening level and turn the subsonic filter ALL the way UP!

Now, put 20hz sine wave on repeat and go back to the amp.

Slowly start to turn the subsonic down until you have reached the maximum excursion you wish to exhibit from your speaker.

Yeah, your subsonic is set too high. Just remember that the crossover point isn't the point at which it begins to slope off, that's the -3db point. So you're already 3 db down at 30 hz, and probably about 4-5 db down at 27 hz. Turn the SSF down to maybe 22 hz.

Is there any port noise? If there isn't, you have enough port area.

i fixed the ssf, and it definitely is picking up the lower frequencies, but it still isnt as impressive as i thought it would be. i think its my box. could it be that about 5 cubes is too small?
