Posted July 25, 200916 yr so here is my problem.. Ive never sound deadened a floor of a car but i have done everything else... so i pulled up out my seats and my carpet today so i can get started. well i noticed there's a rubber like matt and Styrofoam stuck to the floor should i try and pull this all up or am i gonna have a sticky mess?. im wondering if putting sound deadener on top of the matt would even do anything beneficial. should i just do the bare metal areas? I have 50 sq ft to put in on the floor and firewall. just trying to kill some road noise.any help is appreciated thanks a lot
July 25, 200916 yr That's the stock deadening, if you really want to take it off and deaden go for it.
July 25, 200916 yr Author will i see a benefit over just putting a layer on top of it? or should it be removed and re-deadened.
July 25, 200916 yr Author is this in the wrong forum? if it is please movei decided to pull the stock deadener off, and its going to take forever. Edited July 26, 200916 yr by BoomBoxB
July 26, 200916 yr If it isn't bonded to the floor lift it up and put it down on top.MLV is your friend though if you want less road noise.
