My boy is about to buy a 04 monte carlo. He wants something loud in there without sacrificing the trunk to much, I wont have any measurements for a few days but I wasnt sure if anyone has built anything in one these and mite know some ideas for speaker and amp brands

he lookin to spend around 1500 it for his old lady she just wants some good loud bump but not something that takes your breath away

Maybe a couple sealed 12" IA Lethal Injections or Fi SSDs and a Sundown 1200d.

Any one think 2 jl audio w6's dual 4 ohm in sealed box wit a good 1000.1 amp would sound alrite for his rock music

Yeah it should. The old W6s were great SQ woofers and many people say they prefer the new W6 to the W7s.

If your looking for sq look into the SSA Icon. Great subs.

Due the ssa icons take alot of box space? The big reason I was thinking the w6's for him was because the due require very little space in a sealed box...

I will recommend the w6s all day long. For the space issue and because they just sound very good.

Now just find a 1 ohm stable amp and some fronts an you should be good. A sundown would be a good choice for an amp, however there are many other brands out there to look at.

As for highs, there are just as many options. It all depends on budget and how much work you want to do. Coax speakers are easy because they drop in with little or no modification to the doors and vehicle. Components can be a little more tricky. You might have to cut door panels or make tweeter pods, however in a newer vehicle, there may be factory tweeter locations. Like isaid just depends.

As for brands, I do a lot of work with Alpine, JL Audio, kenwood, and Focal at the shop I work at. If you want cheap, Alpine Type S is great bang for your buck. Kenwoods are a little cheaper but lack the performance of the Alpines. If you want to go with a little higher end speaker, JL or Focal will do well. I run JL XR comps in my current vehicle and love them! I have dealt with almost the almost the entire Focal line first hand and they are top notch quality speakers.

In the end you decide, but good luck with the build. Hope this helps out a bit.
