Posted August 17, 200916 yr hey im putting 4 l5 15's into my van but was wondering iwhich way i would be louder, if i had 2000 watts going to all 4 so it would b 500 a piece or just do 2000 and only hook up two for 1000 watts a piece , in my spl class for this year i cant exceed 2000 watts
August 17, 200916 yr Author thanks yeah thats most likely what ill do does any one have any opinions on a good 2000 watt amp that is .5 ohm stable for around 700 bucks

August 17, 200916 yr Author so the sundown is .5 ohm stable, cause thats what i need does anyone have any reviews on this amp i have heard god things but have never used em and how many watts would i get at .5 ohm
August 17, 200916 yr so the sundown is .5 ohm stable, cause thats what i need does anyone have any reviews on this amp i have heard god things but have never used em and how many watts would i get at .5 ohm1 Ohm stable for sure. But I think I've read that you will not have any warranty at 0.5 Ohm, but it can work for burps !Maybe you can wire your subs another way?Ask Sundown, on their dedicated forum.
August 17, 200916 yr There is no warranty coverage when less than 1 ohm. It is stable, and with a proper electrical isn't bad. But the lifespan of the amp is shortened and there is no significant gain going from 1 ohm to .5 ohms, efficiency drops greatly and current consumption greatly increases. It's not worth it.
August 17, 200916 yr Author well i have 4 dual 4 ohm subs so i have to run it at .5 ohm but alot of people have told me that that amp is .5 ohm stable and will handle it with no problem with burps and music, i hope there rite has anyone every used one, ive had abunch of people tell me it will hit like 2300 at .5 ohms

August 18, 200916 yr or you can run 2 of the 1000s strapped ... have the subs wired to 2 ohm ... each amp would be at 1 ohm Edited August 18, 200916 yr by Lucky 76
August 18, 200916 yr Author well i need the most possible power , will 2 1000s strapped put out more then 1 2000 wattt, and in october i will be buying another 2000 and strap em together, to have about 1000 watts going to each sub, i will only be using this amp alone and at .5 ohms for one show , then buying the next one i need as much power as i can get for one show so the 2000 would prob be the best, i just want to kno if my electrical will b able to handle it, and if i will damge the amp buy running it at .5 ohms for 1 show maybe 2Optima yellow d34big 3 0 gaugepower & ground 0 gauge200 amp powermaster altand if needed a kinetik hc 2000
August 18, 200916 yr i would buy the kinetik just in case because you are going to need at least 2 of those when you put in the other amp
August 18, 200916 yr Author i would buy the kinetik just in case because you are going to need at least 2 of those when you put in the other amprite yeah im going to get it and get another one when i put the secone amp in, but should i have an issue supplying enough power if i have that one kinetik just for 2 shows
August 18, 200916 yr It should be enough. Honestly it depends on how you are going to use it for at shows. Do u plan on using it for burps or for a longer duration. If a longer duration how long?
August 18, 200916 yr Author well the runs are 30 seconds each so we have to play music for 30 seconds, everyone says the amp will work perfect at .5 ohms just as long as the voltae is strong enough, but yeah 30 seconds of music and ill probly do about 4 runs through out the day
August 18, 200916 yr The amount of runs really dosent matter you just need to make sure the batts are charged before entering it. You should test them reguardless. I think what you should do is install it with a single kinetik and see what the voltage drops are looking like. If they are significant get another.

August 18, 200916 yr to check your voltage check you alternator (pos on alt and neg on ground) and also check your batteries floating voltage with the car off ... im in watertown. what about you?
