Posted May 16, 200520 yr i was setting the gains for my front stage today by using a 1khz test tone, the test tone was only for the left channel, i forgot to disconnect the speakers from my amp , so after i was done setting the gain, i smelled the smell and i was scared. I put on a lil Santana to test my newly set gains out, and it seemed that the left channel was noticably quieter than the right channel, enough where the right side, overcomes the left. the right speaker still works, gets loud, just not as loud. Is my speaker screwed?? or is there a way to get it loud again?
May 16, 200520 yr does indeed sound as though u have smoked one...but how was the tone just for the left side? when i set the gains on any high amp, the tones i use (1kz) are always played troughout the system. and when using said tone, it's always been way clear when u have too much volume or gain, as the distortion is extremely easy to hear.let us know how it turns out..wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
May 16, 200520 yr i mean if your sitting on the left side then it will be louder since it is closer to you.

May 16, 200520 yr if they are not hooked up together, then i'd say you might have hooked your + and - wrong, reverse them and see what happens.
May 16, 200520 yr Author ooohh i tried them out again today, and they work fine. It seems that santana likes the right channel more than the left. played some hungry lucy, her voice gives me chills down my back with these rainbows!!!!edit: oops fergot: thanks for the help all!!!
