August 21, 200916 yr Author Alright so this is what I was thinking for a 3 way. Let me know how this sounds. I need to get as loud as I can but I want it to sound good. I like my midbass and my highs.Wooferhttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=297-056Midrangehttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-550Tweetershttp://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=45_229_246&products_id=290I also found these Image Dyamic Horns on craigslisthttp://houston.craigslist.org/ele/1305666743.htmlI have been looking but cannot find them for any cheaper than like $475. I found just the horn bodies for like $300 and I thought they were with the tweeter but I guess not.
August 21, 200916 yr Author Like these are just the horn bodies correct? They do not include the tweeter?http://www.woofersetc.com/p5003/CD1-V3--Image-Dynamics-Controlled-Dispersion-Speaker-System.htm
August 21, 200916 yr Author You can lock this thread. I found my answer to my question and it is starting to get off topic so I made a new one.
August 21, 200916 yr Like these are just the horn bodies correct? They do not include the tweeter?http://www.wooferset...aker-System.htmApparently any post made after the site backup yesterday was lost, which is why part of your thread disappeared. But as to your question.....no, those are not just the horn bodies. But those are also the lower end horns, which are less sensitive. If you look in the right places and look used, you can find the higher end models (CD1Pro and CD2 Comp) for great prices. I paid $220 shipped for a pair of used ID CD2 Neo horns. It was a steal of a deal, but it just goes to show that good deals are out there if you look for them.

August 21, 200916 yr Author They have quite a frequency range. Did you do a 2 way or 3 way set up and what type of speakers were they including the size?
August 21, 200916 yr They have quite a frequency range. Did you do a 2 way or 3 way set up and what type of speakers were they including the size? They extend much lower than a typical tweeter.Never done a 3-way with horns myself, although it's certainly possible and many others have. Currently have a set of 8" mids that I need to build kickpanels for. The horns are installed, just need to get the mids in.
August 22, 200916 yr Author See i cannot fit an 8 in my kicks so what I was going to do was do a midrange in the kicks and then a midbass in the doors. Then I was going to use the id horns for the highs. Would this be a waste of time since I am not using the ids for their maximum capability?

Would that be better than in my doors?

Better path length differences, better ability to aim the driver, less diffraction from door panels/etc.
