Posted August 28, 200916 yr Hi everybody!!!!!,thinking of buying the RL-i 10 but i'm not sure should i get dual 4ohm or single 4ohm.the amp i have right now is a alpine m850500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
August 28, 200916 yr The amp will work with either. The dual 4 will maximize the output of the amp, but if you think you might ever decide to add a second sub, get the single 4 ohm and then 2 of them in parallel will give you a 2 ohm load.

Thats what he is saying.

August 28, 200916 yr Obviously that's up to you, if you think you'll ever want a second sub.As for wiring two subs, you can just put both of their speaker wires into the same terminals on the amp.

August 28, 200916 yr It'll match fine either way. Considering I would tend to lean towards the single 4 ohm as you won't "need" the extra power and it offers more future flexibility. Of course outlining your goals would help to insure that makes sense for you.
August 28, 200916 yr Author damn this suck now i have second thoughts of getting the RL-p 12.are these sub sq or bass??wonder do the RL-i or RL-p even out perform jlw7?
August 28, 200916 yr damn this suck now i have second thoughts of getting the RL-p 12.are these sub sq or bass??wonder do the RL-i or RL-p even out perform jlw7?My ass outperforms the W7.
August 28, 200916 yr damn this suck now i have second thoughts of getting the RL-p 12.are these sub sq or bass??wonder do the RL-i or RL-p even out perform jlw7?SQ or bass? What does that even mean? Do SQ-oriented subs not play bass?
August 29, 200916 yr damn this suck now i have second thoughts of getting the RL-p 12.are these sub sq or bass??wonder do the RL-i or RL-p even out perform jlw7?I'd take Rl-S over W7 I'd swear by TC subs, but W7 is a very nice product...my only beef with them is the price. You'll know an SPL sub. They have low Q, low MMS, low X-max, high Fs, and huge thermal power handling. Edited August 29, 200916 yr by hispls

If anything a W6 and the RL-i10 would be more comparable. I'd still choose the RL-p though.

August 31, 200916 yr Actually both the w6 and w7 are GREAT subs. Their MSRP is a bit out of whack, but it isn't the subs fault.
