August 29, 200916 yr The loud function boosts the high and low frequencies. It is useful for low volume listening to help it sound a little better. It should be off when setting gains. If you set with the loud off, dont use it a high volume or you will more than likely start clipping. Edited August 29, 200916 yr by hdrox88

August 29, 200916 yr You can safely use it the way it was designed(for low volume level bass reinforcement) or if you've always used it and your system is set with the loud button in use.
