Posted May 28, 200520 yr Finished washing the truck and walk into my backyard.Son of a bitch that's close ...Got the call that I'm attending the fire.Capt. Canada arrives in style.Hey Jim, "my other ride is a" .......Lucky I had a second to grab a couple pictures.Couple dumps from the heli bomber took care of it.-1 for living in a warm area with mountains and lots of trees.
May 28, 200520 yr damn yall get brush fires up there too huh?we get a TON of em here, had a couple friends' houses burn down and a couple that came close. tis sucky.i wish we had capt. canada helping with our fires, then we would never have a problem [/kissing ass]
May 28, 200520 yr Author Sucks to hear about the homes burning down. The planes are back and forth over my house ... shake the hell out of it. The river is only 5000 feet away from my house - pretty neat seeing them dip down and pick up water.I need a tarp to cover my entire property. I'll be cleaning red fire retardent (yes, I said retard ... ha ha) off of my white siding for weeks.Kinda funny ... I mean it's up on the mountain behind our homes, nothing we can really do about it as firemen. So we just fudgeed the dog for a bit and then went back to the hall - now the planes are doing the entire mountain and pretty much everything else they want to.
May 28, 200520 yr wanna get some pix of the planes picking up water? those would be dope sauce.x2 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
May 29, 200520 yr Author What I should've taken a picture of was the side of the road loaded with vehicles after the volunteer guys from other departments showed up in their own vehicles.Lifted Silverado's, 3500 Rams, Crew Cab F350's, bunch of dualies as well. You're trying to focus on what you're supposed to be doing, but one nice truck after another driving by makes it hard.
May 29, 200520 yr Been there seen that.I was about 50ft away from a massive forrest fire. The "heil bomber" poured water on the fire and some of it spread onto the road ( where i was standing)It feels so weird with all those little drops of water. It was actual flames, prob flared up to about 20-30ft at times.Very cool but also kinda scary.P.SThe LA county forrest trucks are this puke green...almost as ugly as the memphis orange
May 29, 200520 yr we've had some bad fires here as wellSteve, you live in a really pretty area and i hope the houses and everyone is okPS: you need a system in the fire truck
May 29, 200520 yr those firetrucks they equipped with jet engines just to set land speed records are soo tite.
May 29, 200520 yr The LA county forrest trucks are this puke green...almost as ugly as the memphis orangeok, the green is supposed to increase visiblility of ppl seeing the truck....and lay off the memphis orange..don't make me break out the eDmo stuff...muhahahahahahahaor something like that...u knows i u..hehered stripe beer is good..wooooowhoooooowheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
May 29, 200520 yr and lay off the memphis orange..don't make me break out the eDmo stuff...muhahahahahahaha<{POST_SNAPBACK}>please dont.
May 29, 200520 yr i think Kents been drinking some more lolthere are some fire trucks here that are that funky green color too
May 29, 200520 yr Author The only bad thing = they're not the best on gas.Sure it's long and you can't park it real well ... that's why they have rear wheel steering and a huge bumper to help clear your parking spot. The new one we got (pictured above) is stupid fast for a vehicle that heavy and large. Fast enough to make me not want to drive it at a high speed.
May 29, 200520 yr Steve - You have a nice yard. Glad all is okay, but I know You are well prepared anyhow -Nick
