February 3, 201015 yr Author 16deep22tall41 1/2wide that is the biggest i can get with being comfy. i could go taller but i dont wanna go above my window line.
February 3, 201015 yr is 22" right at the window line? could you creep up there a little?i am starving here, throw me a bone bro, lol
February 3, 201015 yr Author i also have a 4 inch amp to sit on top. i dont really want eye candy for people walking by. i dont have an alarm only locks. but we could go like 25
February 3, 201015 yr Author 25 is at window line so im going to have my amp looking out the window but oh well.
February 3, 201015 yr i read in here somewhere you saying that the sub was going to be centered in the box?firing into the center console area?
February 3, 201015 yr Author yeah but if its that tall it will almost be inbetween my seats right at my elobow.
February 3, 201015 yr FAIL!!!! so, like i just typed all this shit and the pc like went out for a sec....dammit
February 3, 201015 yr we gotta fire the sub forward. thats a given, we need max width for air space.we gotta have max heigth too. i used 24.25 so that you have the double baffle.can you mount the amp under the passenger seat?max security this way, remove seat to remove amp.you will have to yank the seats any way to play sub box tetris.i can get right at 6.5 cubes but does not count for displacement for sub yet.90 sq. in. of port area. so 15 sq. in. per cube.tuned at 32.6hz.oh, and i added .5 to your depth.
February 3, 201015 yr Author no the amp cannot be under the passenger seat. i wish i could hide it that well but its a pretty large amp. top[ og the box is like the only option. i might be able to put it under the box because i have a slight dip where i have to put 2x4's to even out. ill go measure that and im lost with the 24.25 for the double baffle.
February 3, 201015 yr Author chop your going to like this. i went out to my truck today. sqeezed out a couple of inches. 17 Deep42 wide24 TallBut that is max. with the sub being there and the double baffle were prolly going top have to stick with 16. 16.5 is cutting is really close. im afraid my sub is going to hit the center counsel. oh and i could fit the amp under the box but there is only like 1/4 of an inch of cleanance do you think it will over heat?
February 3, 201015 yr Author ok so how does this sound Height:24Width:42Depth:16Port width:6Port L1 16.5x14.5and then no L because with the port 6 inches wide the re calc shows that it is 32 hz. And if you put this in the re calc it you have to do the height for depth and depth for height due to the port being on top.
February 4, 201015 yr have you thought about spliting the port into two ports... the vertical port walls would help brace the front wall for the sub.... and yeah, i lost my mind for a sec when i was trying to double the top baffle, oops....loli have not looked at the re page to see what these specs give you for your net volume yet, is it at least a little over 5 cubes?sorry it is my night to cook ( burn) dinner, lolchop
February 4, 201015 yr Author well no i really havnt because i was always putting the amp on top of the box but i guess i could put it in the middle. and the net volume is 6.28 with that enclosure. how difficult would it be to do that port? and do you think my amp would stay cool under my box?
February 4, 201015 yr no diffuculty, just what we been doing, looking at alot of options, zeroing in on what will work best over all.i would say no, add a couple of fans for a piece of mind..... easy enough......perhaps even a little noen under there too.basicly you would have two vertical ports firing up, one on each side.port area stays the same, just the length would be divided in half...not really competing, so you are not worried about pressurizing where the mic would be located.main thing i would think this would add is strength to the center of the box. i mean you have to dig out all the tricks to put a 18" btl in the rear of a s-dime and stay at the window line as well!some folks use 2/3rds of the rear of a full size suv for the same sub.lol, but 6+ cubes would be good.
February 4, 201015 yr Author yeah man well anything sounds good to me. i got some money today and ill be getting more next thursday to build my box so hit me up with some dims and maybe a draw out and ill make it come to life.
February 6, 201015 yr Author I'm just going to stick with my 18. im going to use the re calc and see how this box turns out. thanks guys for all the help tho.
February 12, 201015 yr the textured spray turned out brighter than i thought...anyways looks great, thought it was carpet for a second -do you still have to flush mount the third baffel in?
February 12, 201015 yr Author no. i paid a guy to cut the board for me so it would be perfect because the router bit we had didnt cut very well.. and he fucked it up and the hole is all oblonged. oh well.
