Posted November 14, 200915 yr reading the hoffman's iron law sticky, and have some questions.low end extension, high efficiency, or small enclosure sizei know you have to chose two. and im looking at: low end and small enclosurehow does the tuning and port area affect this? does it mean i need more port and a higher tuning? also assuming more power will be needed?

Nothing else is related to Hoffman's the rest is just basic enclosure building 101. Yes low efficiency makes you need more power, but no matter what you still need a driver that is appropriate for the enclosure you choose.

November 15, 200915 yr No, it means the sub won't produce as much sound with each watt. As in instead having an 89 db sensitivity, it has 87.
