June 14, 201015 yr what's hard about it?If i design a box and input the specs of the box, tuning and T/S parameters of a sub in it and the software is way off, how is that my fault? one of the main mistakes I see when people use enclosure software is a mistake with the metric/imperial conversion but there are a few subs I have come across that model like $hiton the graph regardless....not all the free on line software will give the same results either(reason why I avoid free on line programs like herpies)...a small number of them are close but close isn't good enough IMOto many get to technical when discussing this topic to the point that it becomes a useless threadthat noobies can not understand I will never tune any lower than 3hz below the manufacturers speced FS.....under high abuse situationstuning lower will result in a short woofer life by over exerting the woofers mechanical limits..if you want to tune really low choose a woofer with a low FS and it's all good
June 14, 201015 yr yea i dont have problems with conversions, hehe, that's remedial. I mess with numbers 24\7 so no worries there.

I've seen it 4-5 times in installs tuned by me. Box tuned higher than the peak frequency. You measure impedance in one environment and simulate it in another, no wonder it's different...
June 14, 201015 yr well... i tried explaining that earlier that i dont believe the program is wrong.. it just cant account for different environments such as a vehicle to be accurate if u rely on it therefore it shouldnt be relied upon to be accurate for car audio. It's real simple.. i just dont think others see what i'm sayin.
