I decided to finally sack up and start planning a blow through. I just can't find anything around the web that actually explains. I really want to use aero ports. Do you think, if I sent two aero ports through the bed, and into the cab, that would be sufficient? I'd like to cut the smallest holes possible. Although I said before that I sacked up, I'm still pretty scared about cutting up my relatively new truck =).

So, anyone have personal experience, pictures, or even tutorials?

OH. Before I forget,

My goals are to sound good, but have a really nice side of spl on the side. Just a daily ground pounder that sounds good,. I'm still trying to decide on which subs, but plan on either going with 2 12's, or if I can fit it, 2 15's. Not sure yet at all. This is all just planning out. I'm beginning to be pretty meticulous with the details.

If you're doing a blowthrough with a ported box you want that hole to be as large as possible. If you make it small you're running into the same problem people with cars have in trying to get sound through the back deck. And what do many of them do? Cut holes in the deck.

If you're going to cut the thing, there's really no difference between a 10" x 20" hole or a 20" x 40" hole. Either way you'd still have to do something big to cover it up or fix it if/when you got rid of the truck. If you've decided on the blowthrough for sure, do it right. If you only cut holes for the ports to enter the cab you don't have a ported box, you have a bandpass box with basically the hole truck bed acting as the sealed chamber of the bandpass.

Find a good welder around the nieghborhood or a call a local shop. It shouldnt be too much work to tack it back on. They usually run around $70-100 an hour.
