Does anyone know of any nice 6.5" coaxials (preferably the size that can fit into the oversized OEM openings)...i've been lookin and thought i'd ask about any nice coaxials u guys had experience with...

Boston Acoustics...

they work fine for me. Get very loud and sound great with about 75-80w per side from my PG T500.2.

I'm going to definitely x2 the Boston's.

I like the sound of the new Kicker coaxials ... and I'll add the JL XR and VR lines, Alpine SPR-17LP, Infinity Kappa 62.7i (if you like the sound of them), and of course ... Image Dynamics CTX6. There are lots out there, but these are the ones that I like at the moment.

I've said it before and I'll say it again ... try to listen to as many different speakers as possible in your price range to see what you like and what you don't like. :)

A buddy of mine had the JL XR comps installed in his Avalon...definitely like the sound of those, so I'm figuring the coaxial models are built from the same tech. Would be worth a look as well.

Did Supa actually agree with something I said? :lol2:

hey try out those rainbow coaxes at speedsound. i wanna review on those!

You wrote "x3". That specifically includes my first statement about them :)

hmm the only reason i don't want comps is i wouldn't know how and where to mount the tweets...and im not much of a DIY guy and don't usually have that much time/patience...

and would it be easy to fit 6.5" coax's into a stock opening made for 6.75"-7" speakers...? its going into the front doors of a 1994 Camry...

try memphis pr 6.5's..jsut get the model number with the O in it, for oversized....under $90 retail (usually about $75) and have a really nice sound to them. of course for the $150 or so, u can get m class.....

i have them in my wife's car...really nice...and they have nice mid bass, not great, but it's good.

also what about some nice rear fills? 6x9's....the reason i want rear fill is because sometimes i take my sub out (for road trips and such) and i want to have some better midbass/overall sq without my sub...
