okay, i know a lot* of people are talking about Resonant Engineering nowadays and i could honestly say that i believe the praise that they get. however, i like being different and i always try to find that 'sleeper' brand.

i wanted to know how these 2 subs compare. i'd like the most SPL possible without sacrificing much SQ. Hitting the lows hard is a must too. I plan on running 800watts one of these, ported.

Anybody got experiences with both? Im kinna torn between these 2 subs and i need something to stand out from the other. any help is greatly appreciated.

thankss

finding someone who has experience with the ava and rl-p is going to be hard. both are too new to be experienced by more then a handful, if that.

ok, that said, i own/ have owned both the rl-p and the xxx. and i prefer teh rl-p. in a sealed box the rl-p got almost as loud, got a whole bunch lower and IMO sounded better. in a ported box, it was closer as the xxx finally got low, but the rl-p again IMO, sounded better, got just as low and just about as loud.

i would guess the ava (the xbl^2 ones) would perform similiar to the xxx. sq bieng subjective, that would be up to u. output wise, i believe the ava would hold the edge, if it performs like the xxx. reaching the lows would depend upon enclosure for the ava and the rl-p would shake ur vehicle to death regardless of box.

also, saying the xxx/ava would hold the output edge isn't saying the rl-p isn't loud. it's loud. impressively loud. and amazingly clean doing it.

and i won't say for sure the ava and xxx would perform identical, but i'd wager the performance is pretty close.

and i'll say this, i still own my rl-p (and a rl-i), but i sold the xxx. to me it was overrated, by the ppl. it just didn't perform the way everybody says it does, IMO.

lastly, i believe joehemi is waiting on his ava and he owns an rl-p. so hopefully he'll get here and toss in his $.02.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Well.

I'll give you a hint

There is no AA section but there is a SS section ;)

I am waiting for an avalanche but aa is having some delays on ths subs so it will probably be at least 2 more weeks before the subs start shipping. If it means anything to you i've decided to get another rl-p and run a pair and the avalanche will either go on the shelf or be sold when i get it.

I tell you what.....I'm half tempted to pick up a damned 12" Ava just to do a side-by-side comparo between them.....LOL

Damnit...I may just give Chad a call Monday :(
