So, we did a rewire, and the Pioneer has been sitting for a little while. Went to test speakers and the h/u wouldnt power up, except the amps were turning on, h/u was getting power though. Fuse looked fine.

Not to point out the obvious, but the HU is messed up or the wiring is.

Fist check all the connections. Get a DMM and check for constant 12 volts on the power lead and a switched 12 volts on the accessory. Plus we could use some more info.

Did you actually check the continuity of the fuses?(they can look fine but indeed be blown.)

Is the Remote for the amps hooked up to the remote lead off the back of the HU or is it elsewhere?

Does the HU illuminate at all or do anything when the power is turned on?

Well, we switched h/u to test If it was indeed wiring, and the kenwood illuminated up and seemed to be working.

Remote was hooked up off remote lead, and the head unit didn't illuminate at all.

Won't really be able to test anything or get a good look until at least Sunday.

I checked all wiring with a DMM, and everything that should have power had power. 12.45 on the constant, 12.45 on the switch, and the ground was fine.

The amps turn on wire was connected to the radio itself, so I was extremely confused.

And no, nothing on the radio itself turns on.

Sounds like a bad HU, with some goofy stuff going on internally. It could be internal wiring that connects the remote turn on lead to the accessory when the switched power is on. Who know but chances are, the HU is bad and not worth fixing.

It's a brand new Pioneer 800PRS. We had it working before, I don't understand why it's doing this now.

Well not technically brand new, but I got it this summer. I do believe it's under warranty though.

is it playing music because sometimes my pioneer hu will not illuminate and when i move the faceplate part of it then itll turn back on but mine will play music when it is not illuminated

Try removing the faceplate and put it back on. It could be that it did not completely click in.
