So first off I would like to say that I usually never write product reviews. In fact, even with all of the car audio equipment I have owned in the past, I still have never wrote a single review. Fortunately for you all, the SSA Xcons prompted me to give it a try, simply because these drivers are too well made and under appreciated for me to stay quiet . I feel like the Xcon is a solid piece of equipment in this over inflated balloon of a market car audio sits in. So with that being said, let me fill you in.

I started off with a 14^3ft enclosure with three 6'' aero-ports tuned to 27hz.

And that's the enclosure.

Now originally I had two 18'' 3kw version nightshades in the enclosure. All though I 100% stand behind every Sundown product, I shortly realized these subs were just not for my application. So I set them aside and started looking for new drivers that would sound nice in this enormous enclosure. One thing led to another and I started looking at Xcons. At first I was a bit hesitant regarding the single slug motor design, but the huge bottom plate, aluminum short ring, and concave dust cap won me over. When I received them I was shocked on how good they look, but still had second doubts on their output.

All doubt went away the second I hooked them up. Off of a single [email protected] ohm, not only did they blow my sunroof off the hinges @ 30hz, but they sounded god damned good doing it. Oh they also looked pretty cool in the box.

Now all bullshit aside, these are two of the best drivers I have ever owned. They are incredibly responsive, have humongous low-end output (even with the little power I am giving them) and in general just a very versatile sub that is simply put, under appreciated in the car audio world. I highly recommend this sub to anyone who is trying to get loud, low, and still have sound quality to make any audiophile shit himself. I plan on putting a 3000d at half ohm on these soon and I will update when I do that. Till then, buy this sub, you won't regret it.

PS. sorry I took the logos off.
