Posted July 1, 200520 yr Can a 150WRMS output from the AMP is enough to boost a 175WRMS Sub?..Will it sound good?...what would you recommend if that is the scenario to improved performance of the sub or the amp considering that's gonna be the setup?..thanks

July 2, 200520 yr Author i have the polk audio gnx124,12", 175-400 watts RMS, SVC, 4 ohmsand im thinking of getting the PG Octane R5.0.4 to power this, its a 200WRMS in 4 channelso 2 channel bridge will put out 150 watts of RMS in 4 ohmsim just a newbie... and just building up a new entry-level systemthanks for the reply by the way...
July 2, 200520 yr Keep in mind your powerhandling is going to be enclosure dependant. If you build a larger(read more efficient) enclosure, powerhandling will go down. I'm guessing the Polk has a 2 or 2.5" VC and should be more than capable of handling upwards of 500 watts given you don't go overboard on the enclosure.
