Well, thus far I've been using Raammat and love it. No complaints about the product at all, and Rick is an awesome guy to deal with. But, I've used up all 125sqft, and now it's time to get some more deadening.

I can get more Raammat BXT (62.5sqft) for $99 + shipping. But, I was also looking into Second Skin since I've never used them before, and their "B-stock" items seem to be pretty decent prices. I was looking at the 5 gallon Spectrum B-stock for $189 (plus gun for $15 more), the preorder HazMat for $145 for 100sqft, and I was also sort of eyeing the 5ga of Sludge for $239.

What I'm looking for is superior vibration dampening/panel reinforcement along with the best sound absorption a mass loading product can offer. Since I've "heard" that liquid offers better barrier loading than mat deaders, I was leaning towards the Spectrum. Plus liquid spray sounds like a real time saver in application time. The Sludge would be nice....but it's a little expensive. Raammat ofcourse is an option simply because I know from experience it's a nice product at a good price. HazMat I was looking into more because of price/sqft, and sounds like a decent product aswell.

Whatever I get will be applied to the doors (already have two layers, just give them one more for good measure), floors, pillars and ceiling. So the more I get, the better off I'll be (again why I was leaning towards the Spectrum spray deadener).

Sorry for the long post. But, anyone have any opinions?? Should I just stick with my instinct and go with the 5ga of Spectrum??

i use spectrum. i <3 spectrum a lot more than asphalt. go for it, you wont regret it.

Ant = awesome CS.

Call me narrow minded if you wish....but I have doubts in the back of my mind about a liquid deadener working as well as a mat-type material for mass loading purposes. I don't know how/why I have this stick in my head....but I do for some reason.

Which is the main thing keeping me from jumping on a liquid product like that.

Hmm....after doing some more brief research; I *think* I may go after one more roll of Raammat, with 2ga of Spectrum because what I've read has kind of agreed with my thoughts; Liquid isn't quite as effective as mat at vibration deadening.

Hurmph.......decisions, decisions

:poop:

three things:

1.)Ant is VERY helpful and will tell You honestly which type of product You should go with for a particular need. I spokle with him at length (some months ago now) before ordering 5ga. of spectrum & alot of vinyl mat.

2.)I've used rammatt very sparingly and have less time "listening" to it. I was impressed, however I was more impressed with SS mat. Keep in mind that I've had more listening exposure that taints this observation.

3.)Brad, lemme know how much deadaner You need. I still have most of my SS stockpile (mat & liquid) & even a small roll of EDead left. Let me know if I can help, You know I'm cheap at best.

I agree with Nick on all accounts.

Do NOT get the sludge unless you want it to look like crap. That stuff is SO thick and nearly impossible to get and equal/level look. Just a PITA to me.

I just talked to Ant yesterday and the Hazmat is another 2 weeks out. HE told me he was going to ship me the damplifier instead and it would better suit my needs. They are really awesome on the support level.

BOOOO!

weird, while running my power wire i realized my truck already had some sore of sprayed on deadener on the entire cab except for hte back wall. floor and firewall and then of course the insulation/cusioning...

anyway, iveo nly used dynamat and it was good but ive heard there is better and there is nothing but good reviews for second skin...so go for it.

some of my eDead has fallen, most hasnt

i wont be using it again unless it's in a spot where gravity helps it to stick

I would highly reccomend SS. I have used damplifier, damplifier pro, and the sludge. As the others said the sludge is thick and difficult to get an even layer. I love his mat products. I had also ordered 100sqft of the Hazmat a month or so agao and the order was misplaced and Ant gave me the option of upgrading to damplifier for the same price. Awesome company.

Hey bud, nice to see you here. No show everyone that impressive looking sig.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I joined awhile ago just found myself reading and not posting.

Kali

oh dont do edead!!!!! the stickyness goes "dead".

yes

It takes a good deadner to withstand the CA/AZ heat

/FL heat/humidity combined :ohsnap:

im a semi-noob...but i used a dynamat xtreme trunk kit and it is quite sticky...should have used more on the trunk lid/overall to make an audible difference...but it is a pretty damn good product...

ya i kind of figured that out after awhile...im looking for some more just to deaden the trunk lid to keep it from rattling...preferably mat-type...would damplifier work well for trunk lids?
