I am building a box in my wheel well. In the wheel well there is a small bracket that is where the spare tire is secured down. If I were to place a pipe in the middle of my box, to be used as a pass through where a long screw would go through to secure the box down. I would silicone it of course, I just want to know if there is any sort of petential problem music wise. See the attached for an idea of what i am talking about.

Yes to acid and I may even add an American lock to piss of thieves.

to supa, I was actually wondering about the 2 1/2" diameter pipe that would house it as I don't want to have to reseal it everytime I remove the box. But that is exactly the bar I want to thread into the bracket. Just did'nt know if the pipe might act like a bell or somehting funky and create problems.

no, it won't... just use PVC... it'll be easier to work with...

If I were you, to make things easier on yourself, I'd just have the pipe mount flush with the front and back of the box...

i third the pvc, but would suggest two things. one is to use pipe just large enough to allow the bolt to pass thru. second is to suggest that u wrap the pipe with deadner to eliminate (or close to it) the chance of resonance.

but otherwise, it sounds like a good idea.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:
