First off let me start by saying i have no idea about anything when it comes to home audio.. i do know a lot about car audio though.. i don't know it that matters.

The room is 10ft 1in x 10ft 6in x 10ft (ceiling) - its a entertainment room.

My goal is to have something that sounds good when i Call Of Duty, watch Transformers and listen to Gucci Man.

My budget is around 500 dollars.

What i have in my head is some speakers in the corners of the ceiling, a sub woofer and speakers to put on stands and shit. - i dont know if thats an over-kill for what im trying to do or not.. the room is pretty small so i dont think it would take much..

Thanks for your time and if you need more information let me know!

What does the $500 have to include?

Receiver, speakers, sub, etc...

everything would be delightful

Could you buy a headunit, front speakers, a sub, and an amplifier for your car for $500?

Your ONLY option is to scour Craigslist and find someone who is letting a system go. I'd focus on a receiver and 2 speakers. I'd look for 2 speakers that you can use as fronts now, but maybe eventually use as rears (or at least resell for what you paid for them or close). A sub is not in your budget, nor is surround sound.

x2. A good receiver would probably cost 3-400 by itself. I think a receiver and maybe two floor-standing speakers would do you well. Then once you get more budget you can add the rest of the pieces around it.

I know a guy in central illinois who is selling a set of Klipsch KG-4's and a vintage HK receiver for $400 if you feel like making a little road trip.
