Thank you Sir ... and yes, all suggestions ARE welcome !!!

HD Hood ??? Not sure what this is, but the hood has already been upgraded to a steel cowl induction ...

Look it up on the gmt forum. You just use a chevy heavy duty (2500/3500) newer style hood. It changes the appearance, but in a subtle way. I would offer a pic or link but I'm on my mobile & it's a pain in the ass. Once I get the funds I plan to do it to my 99 Suburban.

  • Author

I will look into it ... Thanks !!!

But I do not plan on changing that hood anytime soon ... Those things are not cheap !!!

... now looking at those pics, I REALLY need to get back to work on those HID retros ...

Maybe one day ill make it up north and hear this thing in person.

so beautiful!!!

Well ain't this some shit ... I told my dad that I lowered my truck the other day. He's cool with it cause he's helped me with my other low riders in the past and said he has something that I need for my truck tucked away in the storage shed ...

It seems like a few months ago, maybe longer ... He traded for a truck similar to mine that was lowered. So when the truck was ready to be sold, the Guy wanted the truck to have a stock suspension setup under it. So dad took (from what was told to me) the AIR BAGS out and installed stock parts back under the truck. He said that he put those lowering parts in a box and put them into the storage shed out back ...

As many times that I've been over there, and he knows how much I love low riders (this being my personal 3rd GMT400, but lowered many other GMT400s for friends), that he has forgot to tell me something like this ... LOL

So you can bet your ass that I will be back down there this weekend to see what is in that box and if I can incorporate anything into my setup ... I'd love to have a set of air bags under this truck !!!

Bags are sweet- Always wanted to bag one. but never had the courage a to tackle the install.

BTW the HD hood is for the NBS 99-07 body style - I don't remember a HD hood for the 88-98's.(just done a search for verification, only ons I saw were homemade).

Truck looks great!  got me really wanting to find another one.

My thing is that I want ride comfort, not to raise the truck up, down, or side to side. Strictly for a smooth ride while sitting low going down the road.

... And I'm thinking that the front setup is completely bolt on, just swap out the springs and shocks or just the shocks.

I will know more about them as soon as I get them here at the house ...

Sure does! smile.png

Vents are really cool

Bags would be aweaome!

I have a 99 Burban so maybe I did overlook the fact it may not work for the older body styles.

Today was a disaster ... Nothing constructive accomplished ...

The front air bags were nothing like I had expected and absolutely did not work for my application ...

But not a total loss ... We can use those particular air bags on another application on this truck at a later date ...

Guess we will go with Plan B on my front suspension ... not sure what that is yet, but we will figure it out sooner or later ...

Well there I go again ... Counting my chickens before they hatch.

If everything goes ok (if my truck doesn't break or something stupid) and scores good on Sunday, I should have enough points to get into MECA World Finals !!! Wish me luck guys cause I'm gonna need all the luck I can get on this one !!!

Also ... Going to a friend's shop (hopefully before Sunday) later on this week to get my truck's frame "C" Notched !!! Should ride ALOT better (no more riding on snubbers) ...
