Posted March 14, 201015 yr so i got an offer ona kinetic hc2400 for 200. sounds like a good deal to me.... but i heard if you plan on running a H.O. alternator it will kill the kinetic batteries. Is this true?I wont know if i even need an alt untill i get the battery installed.
March 14, 201015 yr im not 100% but i think the post said if your upping the voltage more than 14.4 or something the kintetiks fail. i got a hc2000 and a high output alt all sitting in boxes I havent installed, i hope everything goes alright, if i ruin my battery with the alt im gonna be pisssed.
March 14, 201015 yr I will also add I actually worked at Kinetik between 2005-2006 and with thousands upon thousands of Kinetiks sold I rarely received any failures back and I would be pretty sure quite a few were hooked up to high output alternators. I know a few who have Ohio Gen alts hooked up to 6+ year old kinetiks.
March 14, 201015 yr ive been running kinetiks for years off my iraggi 260 amp alt. i think if your going hi voltage, ext reg then its not good.
March 14, 201015 yr man my kinetik 1800 swole up on me but it still works and everything. I just cant figure out why it would do that and especially on a factory alt

Oh boy was it fun to see the posts glowing white with sparks hitting my roof, my car almost started on fire that day

How close is it to the engine? How good of shape is the voltage regulator? What is it hooked up too? Stock alt can cook many things including the whole car and batteries.
