Posted March 18, 201015 yr I need to find the right amplifier for the job and there are a few selections I'm not familiar with. I am planning on useing 2 Diamond audio D1 10' 200rms in a sealed downfiring box to go under the seat of an '02 GMC Sierra extended cab. My choices so far areRE XT 800.2----not to familiar with these ampsDiamond Audio D400.1----these either, but I have heard them on the same set up in the same truck sounded great,(also most expensive of the amps)Hifonics BXi1201----had this one before, it was awesome, but it was for SPL, I want to lean a little more towards, SQ this time.Any other suggestions would be helpful, I am trying to stay around $300, and I need at least 400 watts at 2 ohms. I'm am also trying to stay away from mainstream brands but am finding it difficult to judge these non-CEA2006 rated amps. Thank you
March 18, 201015 yr Look at the Sundown SAZ-1000D it's on sale in the SSA Store for $275 shipped and will do 600 Watts rms at 2 ohms!Won't find a better amplifier at that price imo!Sundown FTW!
March 18, 201015 yr Author I apologize for my mistake, and any confusion it may have caused, but what I need is 200-300 watts rms, and since I havn't actually purchased the subwoofers yet their impedance is irrelevent. thanks. Edited March 18, 201015 yr by tccoble
March 18, 201015 yr Not to try to change your mind but any reason why you are going with Diamond subwoofers? From what I have heard of them through a friend of mine they are loud with no real sound quality to them. They make whole lot of noise but that's it. It might have been the setup he had etc. But from what I have heard I didnt think they were really sound quality based. Just my .02
March 18, 201015 yr First I'd worry about your sub choice. There is a lot out there that is better than Diamon Audio subwoofers.... Sundown's 8's will get louder and sound better doing it :ehhAs for amp, go with the SAZ-1000

I used to run subs just to be loud, but now that I'm older I'd actually like to hear my music (while still being reasonably loud). I am extremly open to suggestions, in fact I am currently leaning toward IA 187 or SSA Dcons, but that's posted in another thread.
