i currently built my first box ever...and it came out pretty good...there are some minor gaps...which i believe are due to warped boards because all cuts were made by me on a table saw...but back to the point...i siliconed the crap out of the inside and silicone into the port (around the port pieces and one of the other corners) will that change anything such as tuning? or increase the liklihood of port noise etc?

thanx supa...u seem to be the only one that ever answers any of my posts...lol...and what about using wood glue to seal some of the minor gaps? (since i ran out of caulk...it blew up so didn't get the whole tube's use) i know its ghetto but just as long as the box is airtight right?

for a 1st enclosure, you are bound to have gaps.

Some use a mix of MDF dust and glue to seal the gaps, or just glue.

Whatever works !

wood glue or silicone. but as the saying goes. black caulk for the Big holes, white caulk for the medium holes and yellow caulk for the really small holes.

I used a shit load of caulk on my first box too. Looked pretty ghetto, but i never had any problems with it. I"m sure like everyone else has mention the glue will be fine.

Keep building boxes, and i'm sure your next one will come out even better.

:P:huh:

remember, if you dont want the caulk to stick to your finger, lick it, but dont like that finger again becaue that'll make you a caulk licker

our teachers were some dirty bastards

just got the whole thing installed...like 15 mins ago...mother of god it is loud...and im not even done tweaking yet...and still needa install my MB Quarts in the front doors...where should the subsonic and low pass filters be set? and hypothetically i could set the level all the way up (its at like 1/2-3/4 level right now) since the rms of the amp is with the rms of the sub?

damnit now i might have to go get a DMM...but im lazy and its kinda low on the priorities list as of now...the level is between 1/2-3/4 of the way up...with bass boost a quarter of the way up...hypothetically shouldn't have a problem right?
