Posted March 30, 201015 yr so ive built a few boxes before an they were simple an nothing special so i use a box calculater that i no longer have( computer crashed)! so im trying to build a box for this 15 btl fl to go in the hatch back of my 1982 mustang! i found a new box tuning calculater (torres) from smd site it has the height 1 an 2 an depth 1 an 2 so i figured hey it will work but it doesnt for me..it messes up an doesnt add height 2 in so i makes it just a square box i wana do 21" tall front 13.50" tall in back 17" deep an 35" wide.. with them specs i want sub up flush mounted an the port would have to go forward towards the top of the box! if that makes since.so THE would make the inside measurements be 19.50" tall front 12" tall back 15.50" deep an 33.50 " wide. my question is how much air space is that? i try do the math with pencil an paper but got really lost! i know im a noob an all but please somebody help me out an sorry if it does not make any since if not the ask an ill try to explain the best i can to you! thank!

March 31, 201015 yr Author so do you think that thats plenty of room for that sub once i add the port? i know that Fi's site says 3-5ft air.. also for bracing i had planed on making the whole box 1 an half inches think so thats would be 2 layers of 3/4 inches mdf im just guessing that aint enough? what else should i consider? thanks
April 1, 201015 yr L x W x H is not that complicated..are those dimensions within fi's specs? is 4 in the middle of 3 and 5?google "winisd" and use that if you feel up to some super challenging algebra that will answer all your questions for you. if not you probably shouldn't be building a boxeven betterSound Solutions Audio - 15" ICON Optimal Ported Enclosure
