my problem is this. I want spl, i have a ext cab truck. and i want it all to be under my seat, im having a downfire dual l7 sealed box built. what kinda spl am i talkin pushing 1k rms to each 2 ohm L7?

i would try to port 1 sub and send the 1k to the 1 it should get louder than the 2 sealed they dont like sealed they are at best ported

Only 162, i think he is going to be depressed with those kind of numbers...

No way to tell how much dB a subwoofer will put out in a car, too many things depend on how loud it is.

But i think you will hit around 120-142dB.

try the solo classics.

they will do fine in small sealed enclosures and from what i heard they are louder than l7s sealed.

i have one so far. im ordering the next one this tuesday. thats when the box is planned to be finished (suppossed to be today)

Don't. L7's are great in the application they excel at, but a small sealed enclosure for output is not something they will do well in. Keep the one and port it, it will be significantly better than a pair sealed for what you want.

I had two CVX 10's (the round versions of the L7's) in my extended cab truck. I originally had them in a small sealed box under the rear seat and each one was getting 1000 watts, which sounded good. Then I built a ported box for one of the tens under the seat, still getting 1000 watts and it was louder and sounded better that the two subs in a sealed enclosure with double the power.

Yup, then I took out the back seat and built a huge box for them. Each one in a 1.75 ft3 enclosure, double 3/4" MDF and tuned to 35 Hz.. Insane.
