Posted April 7, 201015 yr Hey guys have seen alot of painted boxes and for the build I'm doing I wanna go with a House of Kolors blue on the box. What kind of prep work is involved in setting up mdf to be painted? Is it neccessary to resin the whole outside of the box or will a high build primer work on mdf? thanks.
April 7, 201015 yr Author thats really it though just scuff it with some paper and then hit it with sealer primer? hmmm this may be easier than i thought, i will probally counter sink the screws then fill with resin sand and seal. hmmmm interesting. thanks sir lancelot
April 7, 201015 yr I only sanded to get the sides flush and to break the edge on the corners. I didnt sand the whole box.I filled the screw holes with carpenters putty and sanded. Rolled on some sealer primer, then rolled on my paint. I chose a roller with some texture to try and match the interior trim.
