Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could take the time to "school" me on front stages, running three way set up, passive, active, setting the filters and gains of a front stage amp and other useful information that would help me in this hobby.

-- Thanks Dom

nope. do some reading..... what your asking could be pages long.

ask questions..... not have someone tell you everything they know.

Use the search function and do some research. It takes time and trial and error to learn all there is to learn when it comes to front stage setup. There are many knowledgeable members that will be able to answer your question in a technical manner. I am still learning as well.

I have tried looking for this information via Google, also tried looking for answers in audio terminology listing, as I am not a lazy POS.. but i've had no luck.

*Not looking for a 8 page text response*

Yes, no and i am not looking for tips and tricks on how to make mine better.. I am looking to find out what the following means,

running three way set ups, passive, active, setting the filters and gains of a front stage amp.

k you must not be good at google.

ill give you some of those answers.

active-running your speaker directly to your amp. processing done elsewhere

passive-using a crossover between your speakers and amps

3 way-midrange, midbass, tweeter

staging and imageing - check out the usaci site on my signature, go to rules, find the copy of the SQ score sheet. each portion gives a definition. hope this helps ...

passive-using a crossover between your speakers and amps

Crossover as in the crossover provided in a component set?

usually yes..... ive met people who make their own........

so basically a component set is a passive setup.

What HU and amps are you planning in running?

Search here first, explain what you looked for and why you couldn't find it.

PM me and then I'll open your topic, otherwise you've been here long enough to know that you need to try harder than this. :(
