April 12, 201015 yr I believe image tweeters are a second set of tweeters added to a 2 way set up to bring the image higher.
April 13, 201015 yr It means someone didn't do a good job of setting up their component set initially and so they're using a band-aid to fix it But yes, auxiliary tweeters (or imaging tweeters) are tweeters crossed at a higher crossover frequency (generally 5khz+) intended to help "raise" the soundstage.
April 13, 201015 yr I use my imaging tweeters as my rear speakers / also set up to compliment the front stage. Mine actually strengthens the width and center stage. I have kids so I have to have rear speakers so I might as well put them to good use. Works like a Champ !!!
