I was driving to work and all the sound went off. So when I got to work I turned on the radio, went in the trunk and checked the amps for power and they were getting none. I am guessing that the problem is with the remote. If the remote on the head is in fact dead is there a way to fix it. Is it an easy thing, like maybe a trace on the circuit board? Or is it a big PITA? Could it be something else? What would make both amps suddenly stop getting power?

Try a simple jumper from the +12V to the remote lead and see if they turn on. If in fact it is good, this should also power your HU up as well, but I recommend disconnecting the lead before doing this.

if you have a DMM check all points for power

check to make sure Battery+ has 12v

check to make sure the REM has 12v only when the HU is on

check to see if the amps are putting out any voltage

ground wire..

Mines well melted yesterday, lol, i had it hooked up to a battery connector, it was acting funny went and checked it and it fell apart, lol. make sure its tight.

Got a DMM, will check all wires plus the ground

I was putting in oil today (after changing the oil pan gasket) and ended up moving the power wire/fuse holder when the stupid thing broke in half. So that was it....it had cracked and the fuse was not contacting both ends of the holder so there was no power. I wonder how that happened. Can plain old heat break the plastic holders. Anyways....problem solved and I am do it right with an ANL this time.

My stinger fuse holder cracked to bits because of heat.
