I've got a few minor scratches on the upper part of the hood...I don't think they're too deep, but can anyone recommend any products to diminsh/remove them?

good news...

soap, water and elbow grease took out 90% of the scuff marks that were on there.

There are only a few small marks that remain, but feeling over them, it doesn't seem like the clearcoat is scratched. it looked worse than it was, apparently.

Any good mark-removers? :D

Some people use Scratch-X ... I haven't been able to get great results out of it yet. I had higher expectations out of a small tube for $11-$13 CAD. The scratches are so minor that I can't even notice them by the time I finish doing everything though.

For the occasional scratch I'll use:

I have both in my garage right now, and both work very well.

Something that simple, you may have luck with a simple rubbing compound found at Wal-Mart for about 99cents. If that doesn't work, you can try whatever type of scratch and swirl remover you can find. I use the hard to get, expensive stuff, so that's probably not an option for you. If you have a local auto body paint store near, take a trip there and ask them what they have. These shops are really invaluable to anal bastards like myself. They have products twice as good as the typical off-the-shelf consumer variety you can find at any auto parts store.

Yep yep.

When i was working at my detailing job we had 3M rubbing/polishing compounds. You cant just go pick that stuff up at wal mart

i'm def hittin that up today, even though its supposed to be like 95 degrees. OMG
