If you have something that will produce 130 db consistently, and the meter is reading 129.5 consistently. Set the K to +0.5. The problem is having a consistent and accurate source. Is there a way to produce constant spl which you know the db it is supposed to read on the meter?

Firstly, thanks. The meter itself is absolute. The calibration is optional if you want this meter to measure like another meter. How to determine absolute SPL? That I don't know. Maybe you could use a barometer and some fancy math?

the meter is calibrated to be as accurate as possible to the Termlab. So there.. done, that part is taken care of.

If u want it to be calibrated to another meter, get the meter and adjust it yourself. It's not necessary to set anything like that when u get it... such as the Termlab.

That interface box is the sole purpose of high prices and confusion for the pc noob. there is nothing complicated with SPL-Lab meters.

Ok, well I never said these meters are complicated. They are very simple. Secondly, a feature titled "calibration" is normally used to adjust an instrument in case it somehow isn't reading accurately anymore. For these meters, it is simply to match two different meters as you have stated.
