Posted May 15, 201015 yr whats a good tuning for a subwoofer box using 8" for sq purpose and would bring out the best musicality beats for new wave songs?swing out sisters, bizzare love triangle original track, gona get your love, godfinger, reasons, etc etci was thinking of using a sealed box, but the 8" on a sealed box would just produce hard beats..i was thinking of 38hz on a 1.0 cubic feet? any suggestion?im kind new to SQ system, and im having a hard time deciding on how should i tune the box or go with a sealed..i would want the output to produce hard beats when needed at the same time could produce long bass when needed.. :puzzled:
May 16, 201015 yr Author im going to usecadence CVL8-500-4 svc 4ohms 500rms 1000peak..if 38 is too high then how should i tune it? and in what cubic ft? i dont want it to produce very stiff bass..
May 17, 201015 yr A sealed box is what you want for SQ. Or you need to find someone to make you a transmission line.
May 17, 201015 yr you might try and tune around 22 htz. The box will not (unload) on the higher freqs. just a suggestion sir.
May 25, 201015 yr A sealed box is what you want for SQ. what?i'd say 28-30You'll miss out on the upper frequencies but your front stage should be taking care of that anyway...
May 25, 201015 yr A sealed box is what you want for SQ. what?i'd say 28-30You'll miss out on the upper frequencies but your front stage should be taking care of that anyway...What nothing. There's nothing SQ about a box that only accentuates frequencies around the tuning point. The OP said he wanted SQ, so a sealed box is where he needs to go.
May 28, 201015 yr Any idea what the T/S parameters of the driver are? Hard to recommend an enclosure without knowing what type of enclosure the driver will perform best in.There can be "SQ" advantages to using a properly designed ported enclosure. Even more if the driver's parameters aren't suited to a sealed enclosure.
June 1, 201015 yr go for a sealed box if you are into SQ but if you want a ported one tune it in 40hz Edited June 1, 201015 yr by kamoteman135
June 1, 201015 yr go for a sealed box if you are into SQ but if you want a ported one tune it in 40hzTuning frequency depends on what woofer he's using... you can't just expect to use a blanket 40hz port on all your boxes with all the woofers and expect it to sound good.
June 1, 201015 yr Recommended: 28 liters of 1 x 3 "x 33 cm port It's Norwegian and hard to translate!
