Posted May 28, 201015 yr Just tossing around some ideas. This isn't a "which sub is best" thread. I'm wanting peoples opinions on these subs:Pioneer Premier Champion Pro SeriesDB Drive Platinum SeriesAlpine Type-RRE Audio SEXSoundstream Reference SeriesLike I said, I'm just looking for peoples opinions on these.
May 29, 201015 yr Author Opinions can be found by googling. What exactly do you want to know?I've been Googling them, but I trust the people here more than most of the random reviews out there.I'm just wanting to know how they perform, SQ wise, SPL wise, etc.
May 29, 201015 yr You're asking too broad of a question. Try reading the helpful topics in my signature.
May 30, 201015 yr We need more info for what your trying to get out of these subs, but for my .02 I like the RE, Soundstream, and the Type R. I'm just now getting out of mainstream audio and as for as that was concerned the type R's were the shit. The have descent output and pretty damn good SQ.
May 30, 201015 yr Author I'm looking for something that will take up little space. I want it to be able to get loud if I want it to, but not sound like ass.I was also looking at the Dcon, but didn't put it on the list because the above subs are close to or at what my amp does (600 @ 2). I'll probably just end up going with the Dcon, that way I can add another one later on if I want to.
May 30, 201015 yr The ssa icon would love these 600 watts !You don't need to give him 1000 watts to make it play. But the dcon is a good choice. You can go for it !
May 31, 201015 yr Author Main problem with your question is that most members on here don't run those subs. Yeah, I just thought maybe someone had some past experience with them. The ssa icon would love these 600 watts !I might try and bump my budget up for the Icon. I blew my previous custom 10" a while back and I'm waiting for a recone. When I get it back, if I can get it sold, then the Icon will probably be my choice.
