Ok ppl I will be making a ported box for my subs, my external dimme. are 38" wide by 14" height and 17" in depth,, My question is, I will like to tune it to 35hz or a bit lower are these dimme ok ? my subs are HX2 12 "punch series dvc 4 ohms will this be ok ??? in order to be on the right step......

ok at this time I'm using bass box pro 6, I'm trying to get the hang out of it ok anybody correct me if I'm wrong ,vent side will be 12.5 height + 12.25 long and 2 inch from side wall (26.75 sq inch port) tuned to almost 35 ........

the problem with bb6p is that it doesn't figure port volume for slot ports correctly. it's a good program, but it's far from perfect.

with ur dimensions, i get 4.09ft^3 net BEFORE sub and port displacement....which means ur going to be on the smallish side. however, with a tuning of 35hz..u should be fine....

assuming ur subs are going to displace about .15ft^3 each (rough guess), ur at 3.39ft^3....using a port 12.5t x 2.5w , means it'll be 17" long to get ur tuning to 35hz...that'll leave ya a ~3ft^3 net box..which is on the small side, but should work.

another thing u could do is use a couple of round ports. in which case, u won't need as much port area and bb6p can figure the lengths and internal volume pretty darn accurately. besides, on the mic, round is louder..lol....(though u probably won't be able to tell a difference). if u go this route, i'd recommend trying two 4" round....which means u'll need two 4" sch40 pvc ports 15" long for ~35hz tuning and a slightly larger box, 3.1ft^3....

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:
